I had two dresses altered here and I couldn’t have asked for better service. My blue dress from Country Road needed to be taken up from the shoulders towards the back for it to sit properly on my torso. From the time I put on my dress Tsu knew exactly what was wrong with it and suggested the best way to have the dress altered. It was not an easy alteration to do as the dress was well made and there was a lot of topstitching that needed to be unpicked before Tsu could work on the dress. Can't speak more highly of my experience with Tsu Jong at La Couturier! I came in to get standard alterations for my Liz Martinez wedding dress and she did a fantastic job. I learned after I had picked it up that I needed more bustling to have the tulle secured for mingling and dancing later on, and she was able to add bustling points and loops to enable this. In addition, we shared some good chats throughout which made it more personal. Highly recommend for wedding dress alterations and... delicate fabrics like tulle. Highly recommend! I was visiting recently for a wedding and needed an urgent/last-minute hem adjustment for my gown. It was easy to make an appointment and get in immediately (weekday) and they took great care of me! They were so nice, the work quality was great and they were able to fit in the work on very short notice. They are a little pricey but absolutely worth it -- you can trust them to do a great job. They clearly take great pride in their work and it shows.
Contacted La Couturier Alterations two days before my wedding with an emergency dress situation (as the previous place who did my alterations completely botched it). Lady was very polite and understanding on the phone about my situation and booked an appointment for the next day. She worked on my dress all day and ensured me I would not be walking down the aisle without it. I could not have thanked her enough for her extreme efforts. Thank you Tsu for altering my wedding dress. It needed a lot of work but Tsu breezed through it, she even allowed me to store my dress at her shop for over a year because of covid! She was very attentive and thorough. I was also a big fan of her online booking system which made it easy to organise follow up appointments. I went to Tsu to alter my pre-wedding shoot dress and wedding dress. Both times I left extremely satisfied.My pre-wedding shoot dress was 2-3 sizes too big because I had gotten it off the rack last minute. Tsu made it fit perfectly in around 2 weeks! (See first two pics)My body had changed quite a bit from the time I ordered my wedding dress to when I received it (2-3 weeks before the wedding) and I was frantic because it wouldn't go over my bum and was baggy in some areas... Brought it to... Tsu again and she worked her magic. The dress fit perfectly when it was finished (see last two pics), was so comfortable to wear and Tsu went above and beyond to reinforce the zippers to give me peace of mind that the dress won't split open when I sit down.The whole process with Tsu was pleasant and I love that she listens to your wants while also giving honest feedback e.g. for my wedding dress, I couldn't decide between white or beige fabric to be placed under the lace panels on the thigh and bum areas, Tsu very patiently placed samples of both colours under the dress during my appointment and told me white looked better, so we went with that.She also took into consideration my body shape and reduced the puffiness of the sleeves so it wouldn't make me look too big.Thank you for having my best interests at heart! :)Tsu is very professional, at every appointment she will explain what she will do and get your approval for it on a signed contract before she starts working on the dress. I appreciate this transparency very much.When it comes to wedding dress alterations, you really get what you pay for. Both of my dresses had a lot of work to be done, but Tsu altered them to perfection despite the short timeframe I gave her. Tsu is really easy to work with and her experience shows with the consultations. She knows exactly what to do with the dress and really turned a sample dress into the perfectly fitted dream dress for me. My gown had a lot of work done which was pricey, but 100% worth it. You won’t have to worry Tsu which was exactly what I wanted from a tailor.
